IT SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Objective:

To support the Information Technology department by handling technical requests, performing preventive and corrective equipment maintenance, providing user support, managing basic systems, controlling the technology inventory, and tracking incidents, thereby contributing to the company’s operational continuity and the proper functioning of IT resources.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing assistance and technical support to internal users.
  • Logging, classifying, and tracking help desk reports, logs, or ticketing systems, as well as monitoring KPIs.
  • Installing, configuring, and performing basic maintenance on hardware, printers, peripherals, and authorized software.
  • Managing inventory and tracking technology assets, licenses, accessories, and assigned equipment.
  • Documenting incidents, solutions, technical processes, and quick-reference guides for users.
  • Assisting with basic cybersecurity measures: antivirus, updates, passwords, access control, training, simulations, and best practices.
  • Providing basic user training on the use of hardware, digital tools, and printers.
  • Assisting with IT procurement, obtaining quotes, managing vendor relations, and receiving equipment or services.
  • Preparing equipment and access rights for new hires, as well as handling offboarding or equipment reassignments.

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems, IT, Technical Support, Networking, or a related field.
  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in technical support.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows, Office, hardware, networking, printers, antivirus software, and equipment inventory.
  • Experience with ticketing systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, backups, and technical documentation is desirable.
  • Service-oriented attitude, organizational skills, effective communication, proactivity, and problem-solving ability.
